Fashion meets Bridals

Look Ma’

No Photoshop!

These images were shot in-studio or on-location on the same day, all within 2-miles of each other.  No Photoshop used (except to add a black border and my logo). All color, tonal, white balance and exposure adjustments performed in Adobe Lightroom 2.0.

From a February 2010 bridal session photographed just north of Salt Lake City, Utah by Jake Garn Photography.

    Hello!! I had to chuckle at your comment, “No Photoshop(c) used…”, only Lightroom(c). Lightroom’s(c) “official” name is, “Adobe(c) Photoshop(c) Lightroom(c) v.x”, so technically….

    But seriously, a quick question to a user experienced with Lightroom(c)…What are the benefits/differences of Lightroom(c) over Photoshop(c)?? Adobe’s(c) PR fluff doesn’t give me a good excuse to go with Lightroom(c).

    GREAT bridal shots by the way!!!!

    John

      @John Stacy
      I use Adobe Lightroom mainly as a RAW image processor, Photoshop cannot process RAW images except through Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), which does a lot of the things Lightroom does but I find Lightroom to be just a bit more powerful as they usually introduce new features into Lightroom first before introducing them to ACR. Basically I do all my macro adjustments (things that affect the entire image) in Lightroom and I do all my spot adjustments, layer masks, montages, backgrounds, healing, dodging & burning etc. in Photoshop. Lightroom is mainly meant to be a powerful batch processor and it performs amazingly in that respect as well. For a couple hundred bucks it’s well worth it to me.

      Both Lightroom and Photoshop are a part of my workflow on almost every image.

  4. Hi, that was definitely an awesome read. I had actually been searching for a photo printing related article for a while now. Great! I have a similar blog, how much do you charge for advertising? because I can’t seem to find the information anywhere.
